Bridgeport’s synthetic ice-skating rink opened to the public last Friday to a strong turnout.
The rink is located on the grounds of the Benedum Civic Center.
While it likely will be utilized for leisure skating, it has the capability for ice hockey and other recreational events.
Capacity is 50 skaters at one time. Pre-registration needs to be done before a selected time slot. Your time slot allows for 60 minutes of skating during the 90-minute sessions. Walk-ups may be accepted if less than capacity, but individuals must pay by credit card.
Skates – sizes ranging from youth size 8 to men’s size 13 – can be rented at the rink.
Skating will be available three days per week. Hours of operation are Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
