Like to stay active? There are plenty of things to enjoy during your stay. Several nearly by local and state parks offer opportunity to explore fitness trails, hiking trails, swimming and cycling or simply pack a picnic and enjoy some time outside.
Not far from Bridgeport you will find whitewater rafting, kayaking and canoeing opportunities that offer some of the most exciting (and beautiful) whitewater experiences in the state. With several area golf courses, including the Pete Dye Golf Club which has hosted Nationwide Tour events, you can bring your clubs and play golf on some of the best courses West Virginia has to offer.

Located on a small island in the Ohio River, Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park features a Palladian mansion and museum where visitors can enjoy tours of the grounds and mansion, and horse drawn carriage rides. Park is accessed by a sternwheeler riverboat.
