In mid-November, Parks and Recreation Coordinator Amy Callahan proposed a Mom2Mom sale to the Bridgeport Community. In Michigan – where she and husband Dru Callahan formerly lived – the buy-and-sell exchanges between moms were quite popular and she wanted to offer it to her new community.
They liked the idea. Scheduled for 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, Jan 28, the proposed event has had a tremendous response.
“We have sold out of tables with over 35 sellers and 10 on the waitlist,” Callahan said.
The sale, which will feature everything from gently-used infant and children’s clothing, maternity clothes, baby equipment and gear and toys, is open to the public.
There is no admittance fee, but everyone is asked to bring canned food items to be donated to The Shepherds Corner outreach program.
Due to limited parking at the Civic Center, it is recommended that attendees park either at the city lot across the street or near the city pool, entering from North Virginia Avenue.
Accepted payment methods will be at the discretion of each seller. Possible forms may include cash, check, credit card, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay and PayPal.
