After opening nearly 23 years ago at Meadowbrook Mall, Target has a major renovation in its future.
“The remodeling at Meadowbrook Mall Target has probably been planned as long as there have been rumors about it,” said Noah Levy, mall marketing manager. “This is something that has been anticipated for a while and the way we see it, it really is kind of a reinvestment into the community.”
The remodel will ultimately result in full grocery and Starbucks coffee shop. Levy said the construction is estimated to take about six months, putting the completion approximately at the 23rd anniversary of the store’s opening in July of 2023.
According to Levy, Target will utilize its existing space without taking over any additional amenities.
Meadowbrook Mall is the premier shopping center in the area, said Levy, and has had a long partnership with Target.
“This is premier interior retail space and Meadowbrook Mall does take pride in our community and take pride in one of our major tenants – Target – reinvesting this way and seeing the day-to-day impact and wanting to make the experience better for shoppers is amazing and something we are very excited about,” Levy said.
As reported previously on Connect-Bridgeport, Target will also feature an electric vehicle charging station in its parking lot. (Read HERE)
“Target has filed for this with the city, and it is part of all of this as well,” Levy said.
Once completion of the remodel, the Bridgeport store will become a full-service Target, joining others in West Virginia including Morgantown Barboursville, South Charleston, Hurricane and Triadelphia.
“It’s a fantastic thing and if you ask the community, it’s been due for a while,” Levy said.
