Officials with the Meadowbrook Mall have announced the arrival of a new business that is coming to the City of Bridgeport’s retail hub.
Tradehome Shoes will open a new store this spring in the mall’s center court area. It will encompass 2,000 square feet in the site currently home to Cardinal Market. That business will move to a new 2,300-square-foot facility near Marshall’s
According to Joe Bell, the corporate communications director for the Cafaro Company, which owns the mall, the addition leaves the Meadowbrook Mall with nearly every storefront occupied.
“For the most part, we have no more space except the former Garfield’s site,” said Bell. “All spaces are taken or are in negotiation. There may be some storage space that may be repurposed in the future if necessary.”
Bell said Tradehome, which is 100 percent employee-owned, has two additional locations in West Virginia – one in Huntington and one in Vienna. He said this is the first location in North Central West Virginia. They have more than 120 locations in the United States.
“They started as a regional brand and kind of grew outward. The business was founded in Minnesota in 1921. It was family-owned and slowly grew,” said Bell. “When it became employee-owned, it began to aggressively spread to different locations.
“They’ve grown because they have very hands-on customer service that they make personal,” he continued. “They also carry all the major brands.”
Tradehome Shoes features styles for the whole family, with popular brands like Adidas, Asics, Birkenstock, Cole Haan, Crocs, Florsheim, Hey Dude, New Balance, Nike, Oofos, Ugg and many more.
