Roundabout Records is moving – but not far. Located at 103 West Main Street, Bridgeport, for the past couple of years, the retail vinyl shop is moving to 103 East Main Street, right next door.
Owner Chris Lacaria carries vinyl albums of all genres including some rare and obscure finds. As his family was in the vending business and serviced machines including jukeboxes, he was raised listening to albums and collecting became a hobby. That hobby eventually became a source of income for Lacaria, who is also a teacher with Harrison County Schools.
He carries a generous inventory, but due to the relocation, he is running a substantial sale. A large percentage of his thousands of records will be 50 percent off the remainder of this week.
Roundabout Records was part of Market on Main – a collection of artisans and other vendors – which occupied 103 West Main Street, a historic Bridgeport building that was once Bridgeport Baptist Church. Market on Main closed earlier this year and now the Bridgeport Convention & Visitors Center/Connect-Bridgeport leases the building.
The record store will now be located on the third floor of the building next door. Closed Saturday for the move, Lacaria plans to open at the new location Sunday, July 20.
Roundabout Records is open 12-7 p.m.
