Owned and operated by Bridgeport High School alumna Grace Webster, “Glossed by Grace” is open on Main Street.

Her hair services are geared toward making her clients feel and look their best.

“I do color services, all over color and highlighting,” Webster said. “I do hand-tied extensions, color correcting, haircutting, etc.”

A 2022 graduate of BHS, Webster attended West Virginia University with her sites set on becoming a veterinarian.

“After realizing that college wasn’t for me, I ultimately decided to go to cosmetology school,” she said. “Hair and makeup were things I had always liked to do growing up.”

Webster graduated from Blush Platinum Academy in July of 2024 and thereafter passed her boards and took a job at Ulta Beauty at Meadowbrook Mall.

She soon was drawn to the idea of owning her own business.

“I liked the idea of having creative freedom with my services,” she said. “Also, I’m a big family person so it’s really important to me to balance work and family.”

Glossed by Grace is located in the second floor of the Chandler Building, 147 West Main Street. She shares the area with Rae Aesthetics, owned by BHS graduate Sierra Murphy.

“She partnered with Rae Aesthetics to be a part of the beauty industry,” Murphy said.

In addition to services Rae Aesthetics has always offered – facials, dermaplaning, microneedling, peels, masks, waxing, spray tanning, lash and brow services – Murphy also partnered with Andrea Gwinn, RN, to add injections and additional services.

“We are now offering injections, facial services and now hair services,” Murphy said.

After less than two weeks in business, Webster said the experience has thus far been rewarding.

“It might sound cheesy, but I love making people feel pretty,” she said.
