City businesses and organizations are designing their “Adventures in Candyland” stations for the Oct. 12 event at The Bridge Sports Complex. A few more hosts are needed to round out the stops for the trick-or-treat-style event.

Available are Gummy Hills, Peanut Acres, Jelly Bean Junction and Chocolate Swamp.

Those stations will join Ice Palace (hosted by Della’s Deli), Lollipop Woods (hosted by Bridgeport Public Library), Peppermint Forest (hosted by J. Robey Law), Gingerbread House (hosted by Wreaths Across America Team Bridgeport), Ice Cream Slopes (hosted by WIC), Cupcake Commons (hosted by Bridgeport Physical Therapy) and Cotton Candy Corner (hosted by Kaufman & McPherson.)

“These businesses and organizations get so creative to design their stations to compliment the theme and come up with goodies and activities for the kids,” said Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Coordinator Amy Callahan.

Although not necessary, it is suggested that stations offer a healthy snack option and a physical activity.

Adventures in Candyland will be open from 1-3 p.m. Weather permitting, it will be held outdoors on the campus of The Bridge Sports Complex. If the weather does not cooperate, the event will be held inside Citynet Center.

 Upon arrival, kids will stop at the check-in tent, sponsored by the City, to receive their official Candyland Board. They can then work their way around the paved path, stopping at each station where they will receive treats and a stamp for their board. At some stations, there will be interactive games and other activities.

“The city wants to host a safe, memorable event for the Halloween season – and something a little different,” Callahan said. “We thank the Bridgeport businesses and organizations that have joined forces with us to create a magical experience for our community kids.”
