Bridgeport Farmers & Makers Market
Here we are! Somehow, we have made it to the final market of the year and what a year it has been! It has been an incredible season for the Bridgeport Farmers and Makers Market (BFM2), and we are going to wrap things up with a little extra fun at our BFM2 Fall Fest “After Hours” Market on Friday, October 23, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. @ our same location, 100 Marketplace Ave Bridgeport.
If you have been following along this season, you know we love finding new ways to bring people together, support local businesses, and give our community a reason to get out of the house and spend time with one another. This last market is going to be a little different, and we hope you will come ready to have some fun!
First…..costumes are encouraged! Think family-friendly Halloween fun, so bring the kids, dress up yourself, and make a night of it. We will be hosting a costume contest, and if you want to participate, I recommend arriving right around the start of the market at 5:30 to get checked in. We want everyone to have plenty of time to walk around, visit vendors, and show off their costumes before voting begins around 7 p.m. We are keeping things casual, so no need to overthink it. Just come have fun!
And because one contest is apparently not enough, we are adding a pumpkin contest, too! Carve your pumpkin at home, bring it ready to display, and enter it when you arrive. We will have voting at the event, so be sure to check out everyone’s creations while you are there.
What do you win? We will have BFM2 Cash that can be spent at next season’s market, along with gift cards from local businesses.
Of course, there will be plenty to do even if contests aren’t your thing. We will have cornhole boards, fire pits to gather around, and plenty of local vendors to shop from. Grab something good to eat, find a warm spot by the fire, and enjoy a fall evening with friends and family. And let’s not forget Josh Folmsbee on the mic!
I am grateful for this year. From our farmers and food vendors to our makers, musicians, sponsors, volunteers, board members and the people who show up week after week, this market is what it is because of our community. We have grown, tried new things, met new people, and continued building something that is about so much more than shopping local.
So come help us close out the season! Wear a costume, bring a pumpkin, challenge someone to cornhole, or just come wander around, listen to music and enjoy the evening.
